Scope

BI import process consist of two main stages:

  • Discovering
  • Parsing

On the Scope tab Admin can start the import process using the Discover button. Through discovering the system requests all available metadata from the BI, depending on permissions and accesses.

As a successful discovery result, Admin will see the list of main entities of the BI system.

Please note, before starting the parsing process, Admin should select the necessary entities and save the changes.

We also have parsing functionality for the Jira connector using a JQL filter.

The user has to enter the appropriate JQL query in the field on the Configuration tab and save the changes. If a JQL query is present, parsing will be performed exclusively according to the query. Scope settings will be ignored.

Filtering

Admin can filter scope list by:

  • All
  • Only workspace
  • Only personal group

Updating on schedule

Admin can set up auto-updating on a schedule for each entity.

Updates can be configured to occur daily or weekly. In weekly mode, Admin must also select the day of the week.

The update time can be specified in the Configuration tab, within the Auto-update time field.

Additionally, Admin can specify which workspaces will update automatically.

Please note, If auto-updating is enabled for the workspace, all new reports (created today) in the workspace will be automatically published in Analytics hub.

Update process consist of:

  • discover metadata
  • check the last update date
  • parse new values for entities
  • update Analytics hub objects and relations with new values
