Permissions

Permissions are defined on five levels:

  • Attribute - different Attribute types exist in the application

  • Object - applied on the defined object

  • Category - applied to the objects, related to the defined categories

  • Object type - applied to the different object types

  • Relation - The relations are defined between two object types. (For more detailed information, please refer to the Relation page)

  • Module - applied to the modules on the dashboard

There are three modes available:

  • Edit - as a user, you can edit, view, and read reports for which you have been granted access

  • Read - as a user, you can read and view reports for which you have been granted access. However, you are unable to edit them

The permissions are defined by Admin on the Admin panel.

The permissions system follows these General Rules:

  1. Personal permissions take precedence over group permissions
  2. "Allow" permissions take precedence over "Deny" permissions
  3. Permissions granted directly to an object take precedence over permissions granted to its object type and category
  4. Permissions granted to an object type include permissions for its category and objects with that type
  5. Permissions granted to a category include permissions for objects related to that category
